FINAL PROFIT is a story driven management shop-sim RPG hybrid with depth and density that will take you to unexpected places as it gradually unfolds and evolves.
(As of the 1.2.3 update, now also includes Just Shop Mode! An alternate roguelike shop keeping game mode!)
With over 30 original songs and 35+ hours of gameplay.
The gameplay starts out cozy in a small town with a little shop. The player is introduced to the mechanics of finding customers and products, then actively running a shop. This intro is a simplified slice that lets the player learn the unique gameplay loop before moving on to a bigger city with a more complex shop.
Gradually many new systems are introduced as the player progresses, a big part of this is automation. Allowing the player to develop mastery over old systems as they pursue new ones.
Exploration is also heavily featured, with a dense world full of quests and secrets that rewards the player with new features, story, upgrades, and collectables that build on each other to increase earning potential.
Eventually other ways to make income open up outside the shop such as buying stocks, trading commodities, and real estate. Almost every building you see in the game can eventually be purchased.
Alongside all of this is a rich narrative with plenty of humour. And many choices along the way that change how the shop develops in significant ways.
A word from the developer:
"It was my intention for the game to present capitalism as it is, and shine a spotlight on some of the social, economic, and environmental problems it causes.
You may recognise that the game is built in RPG Maker, leave any bias against the engine at the door. It's just a tool, and I've pushed it to some exciting and innovative places. You won't regret giving Final Profit a chance."
FINAL PROFIT is available now on Steam and Itch for $15USD. The original soundtrack is also available on Steam and can be purchased together in a 20% off bundle.

Get Sidetracked: The Game
“I’ve sold all my stock and made a tidy profit! Time to head out and pick up some more, but wait… There was that customer I wanted to find… And that area that was blocked off, I just learned the spell to open it up! And I’ve saved up enough for an upgrade, but which one to get first? Oh! Is that a chest I missed? Now I have enough Apples to venture deeper into the Apple Labyrinth! (Just remember to pick up that stock on the way back!)”
Final Profit was developed by one person from Melbourne, Australia. Previously they worked as the cinematographer on the game Necrobarista. It took 3 years to make Final Profit, and a lot of coffee. And a further two years of post launch support and updates so far. Most of the music in the game was also created by the developer.
